This is the highest resolution image I have ever taken and is a mosaic (combination of overlayed images) of three separate frames of the Andromeda Galaxy!
Andromeda is our nearest galactic neighbor at only 2.5 million light years away! It is also one of the brightest deep sky objects in the night sky, and is the most distant object visible to an unaided eye (under really, really good skies)!
I used an LRGB process to capture this image to properly represent it's true colors and there is over six hours of open-shutter time here!
